It All Started When...
I found an old picture of myself the other day. I was sitting in my bedroom, I was probably about 12 years old.
My bed was neatly made and though it was an old picture, you can see that the books on my desk were neatly lined up. I sat on my neatly made bed, smiling and happy. I showed the picture to my mom and she laughed. She commented that I had always been neat and she noted that she never had to get on me about cleaning my room. She wasn’t wrong. I have vivid memories of myself, excited for back to school shopping. I had my school list prepared and already planned out the binders and notebooks I wanted to buy, a different color for each subject. Honestly, it wasn’t until I got to college, that I realized I was more organized than the average person. For me, writing lists, giving everything a place, and sorting through my belongings was a way of life.
So, even though having a roommate was a bit of a struggle for me, I still found it fairly easy to remain organized from college until my young adult years.
Then, when I was 29, I had a baby, and life as I knew it was completely different, in so many ways. I often say that while organizing used to be a hobby of mine, it became a necessity for me once I became a mom. My husband and I moved eight times in 10 years and by the time our second daughter joined the family, I felt like I was going a little crazy. From losing important documents like a copy of our marriage license, to not being able to find clean socks for the kids, I felt like I was drowning in motherhood. I remember crying to my husband, saying I desperately needed some more order back in my life. I clearly understood that my life was not going to look like the life I had in my early 20s, however, I didn’t want to feel like I was living in chaos. He asked me what I needed, and I responded by saying “We need less stuff.” Now, I am not a minimalist by any means, but at the time I felt that we had so much stuff that it was impossible for me to create any type of order in our home. So, I began the process of organizing our life.
Through that journey is how BizzyBee Organizing was born. As I started to slowly organize and create routines for our family, I started to learn the things that made me feel more grounded and in control as a mom.
I would speak to friends about what I was doing and they would ask me to organize their most used spaces. I still get such a thrill when I declutter, sort, and organize a space. I used to think that I was organized because I have a type A personality. However, as I started to build my business, I learned that being organized looks different for each person, and that the end goal is for my client to feel that they have a space that works for them. I now realize that organization is a mindset. I define it as the tools that you use to help you create simple routines around your life, so that you can spend time doing the things that are actually important to you. My goal as a professional organizer is to empower moms, who are in need of creating more order in their lives, because they feel consumed by the high demands of motherhood. I am so glad you have joined me on this journey. I promise, you can do this. You can get organized!
I am very happy I chose Bizzy Bee Organizing to minimize the clutter in my pantry. Working with Toula was awesome, as she had a plan, provided visuals and included my input on the organizational style that would work for me. She was also flexible with my schedule. My pantry is now very functional and user friendly! I'm no longer ashamed to open my pantry when I have visitors. Thanks so much for helping me declutter!
Toula, has a great personality and is so easy to work with. The changes that she makes are so seamless, that they are easy for your family to adopt. Her recommendations are sometimes small, but impactful. After working with her, you may wonder why you never thought of making some of those changes on your own. But, that's her gift! Toula makes organization fun, seamless, and a life changing experience. I highly recommend her. Let her come into your home today and help you make your spaces more comfortable, and organized. After using her recommendations, you may realize that you have plenty room in your home and you don't need to buy a bigger home, you just needed Toula to help you organize.
My mom is a caterer and I was so tired of seeing her catering things all over the place. So I hired Bizzy Bee to organize the space and make it all make sense but doubting that it would even be possible. But man did she deliver! She was able to creatively use the things we already had so we didn’t have to purchase a bunch of stuff. A space was created for everything keeping in mind highly utilized items. The whole experience seemed like a small miracle as she was able to transform the space to something practical and anyone could come in and grab what is needed.
